BOARDMAN TRAIL MEETING The 2.5-mile Boardman Lake Trail, which currently stretches from the north end of Boardman Lake in Traverse City to Medalie Park/Logan’s Landing on the lake’s southeast corner, is looking to continue its reach into the Boardman River valley. A Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Program grant was awarded to the Grand Traverse County Road Commission and Traverse Area Recreation and Transportation (TART) Trails, Inc. to fund a feasibility study to evaluate the possible conceptual design options for a grade separated trail crossing of South Airport Road. Gosling Czubak, the engineering consultants hired to conduct the feasibility study, have completed the next step in the study and have developed possible crossing alternatives. A second public meeting will be held at the Garfield Township Hall (3848 Veterans Drive) at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2010. The purpose of the meeting will be to review the consultant’s findings regarding alternatives, alternatives evaluation, and concept drawings.
